About The Project

The property had recently been purchased and was in need of extensive updating. The existing kitchen did little to reflect the homeowner’s modern tastes or lifestyle. Their goal was to create a sophisticated space that would flow naturally into the adjoining dining area, establishing an open-plan environment perfect for both everyday living and entertaining guests.

Key features envisioned for the new kitchen included modern laminate worktops offering both durability and style, handleless J pull doors to maintain a clean, minimalist appearance, and integrated appliances to achieve a seamless finish. Metro-style wall tiles were also requested to lend a timeless touch to the new design. With these priorities in mind, we set about delivering a full-service renovation that would exceed expectations.

The Process & The Kitchen Design & Build In Progress

From the very beginning, IW Kitchens managed every aspect of the renovation with precision and care. The project called for more than a simple kitchen replacement; it required substantial structural work to reconfigure the space.

We commenced by carefully removing the old kitchen before carrying out major alterations. A significant element of the project involved knocking through the wall separating the kitchen and dining area to create a more open-plan layout. To support the new structure, we installed an RSJ (rolled steel joist), ensuring absolute safety and compliance. An existing doorway was also blocked off to streamline the new design.

With the structural work complete, our team proceeded with the first fix of electrics and plumbing, strategically planning all essential services. The walls were then expertly plastered to achieve a smooth, modern finish, setting the perfect backdrop for the new kitchen.

The installation phase brought the client’s vision to life. Lugano painted doors in a modern style were fitted with precision, complemented by sleek laminate worktops and carefully integrated appliances. Gas and plumbing connections were completed by our trusted specialists, ensuring everything was ready for immediate use. The final flourishes included laying down a luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floor for a hardwearing yet stylish base, and meticulously installing classic metro wall tiles to add character and charm.

Throughout the project, IW Kitchens supplied all trades in-house, ensuring a seamless workflow, a consistent standard of quality, and complete accountability. Our methodical approach minimised disruption for the homeowner and kept the project firmly on schedule.
